Kids Activities
Our educational programs inspire kids to learn about where their food comes from, how it’s grown, how it impacts their body, what’s in season, and even how it tastes.

Weekly Scavenger Hunt
Each week, kids can learn about what food is in season through a simple activity while they walk around the Market. We encourage kids to engage with Vendors and learn the names of their businesses and what they sell to inspire the next generation of locavores!
Swing by the Market Info Booth when you first arrive to see the seasonal food sticker and learn how many are hidden around the Market (and get any clues, if needed). Then walk around the Market to find the sticker(s) and come back to tell us where you found them to win a prize!
Play with Your Food
Join us in June and July as we expand our Kid Activity Programs to include nutritional education and taste testing. Partially funded by LiveWell Douglas County through Pathways to a Healthy Kansas, this program focuses on 3 main components: Explore, Learn, and Taste.
Each week, kids explore through hands-on crafts and sensory exploration to learn about the nutritional components of local food and taste test seasonal produce raw or through simple recipes from our Market Vendors.
Come by our Market Info Booth to taste the rainbow of local food and watch our future Market shoppers grow and learn!
Our Community Programs
Visit us at the Market Info Booth, where you can pick up your Loyalty Cards, buy Market Tokens and Merch, and participate in our wonderful Kid Activities!
We’re located in the alley between New Hampshire and Rhode Island Streets.
Loyalty Cards
Free for everyone and handy for remembering the dates of the Market. Stamp your card at the Market Info Booth every time you visit and be entered to win a tote bag and a variety of Vendor goods after 5 visits to Lawrence Farmers Market!
We hold raffle drawings on the first Saturday of every month at 8:00 am. You do not have to be present to win, but you must respond to us within the hour and pick up your bag before 11:30 am.
In partnership with Double Up Heartland and Mid America Regional Council, the Double Up Food Bucks Tokens help provide local fresh fruits & vegetables for food-insecure individuals in our community.
In 2024, through funding from a Douglas County Community Foundation grant, we launched the Double Up Protein Bucks Tokens. These tokens help provide local proteins (meats, eggs, dairy, legumes, etc.) for food-insecure individuals in our community.

Tokens & Nutrition Incentive Programs
SNAP benefits were used by 150 Lawrence families at our market.
$11,266 SNAP dollars were used at our Market.
Customers recieved $5000 in Double Up Protein Bucks.
We distributed $9,116 in Double Up Food Bucks.
Local Produce Distribution
In partnership with the Douglas County Extension Master Gardeners and Just Food, our Vendors donate 8,600+ pounds of locally grown produce every year.
