April was just our “soft opening” for the Lawrence Farmers’ Market. JUST WAIT! We have SO many more vendors to come!

This weekend’s Grand Opening brings almost all of the rest of the vendors to the market (However our nut and fruit vendors are still a few more weeks away!). The days have been longer and sunnier and there’s a plethora of fresh greens to be harvested and shared with the community.

This week brings leafy greens (lettuces, spinach, arugula, bok choy, leeks, green onions, rhubarb, microgreens, etc), root veggies (radishes, turnips, etc), plant starts, potted plants, coffee, wine, breads, baked goods, desserts, mushrooms, jams, jellies, hand-crafted items, hot tamales and burritos, hot sausage biscuit sandwiches, meat pies, meats, tinctures, teas, tonics, AND MORE!

Mayor Brad Finkeldei, along with other notable members of the city government, will join past mayors in our tradition of ringing the bell on our Grand Opening Day.

This will be even MORE grand as we are joined by the Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and livestream broadcast to commemorate the Lawrence Farmers’ Market joining the Chamber of Commerce!
