In 1994, we started our pecan orchard by planting 200 saplings on acreage along the banks of Jake Creek and began our “hobby.” Over the next 5 years, we increased the number of trees we planted and 26 years later, we currently have over 1,900 trees bearing USDA improved variety pecans. Needless-to-say, our hobby is now our full-time job. Our first harvest was approximately 500 lbs. and this fall, we harvested over 10,000 lbs. of delicious and healthy pecans.
Jake Creek Pecans are sold both shelled and cracked. The shelled pecans are packaged in 8 oz. and 1 lb. bags and the cracked pecans come in 3 lb. bags. Our most popular product is a 2 lb. bag of partially shelled pecans. The most popular varieties that we sell are Pawnee and Kanza.
